Merryton Account Privacy Information
Last revised: 4 November 2026
The shared account
Merryton LLC operates the shared Merryton account. One account can be used across the Merryton network, including when you join through Circuni or Struck & Found. The website through which you join remains identified on registration. Its Privacy Notice explains the features provided there.
Account information and security
Merryton uses only the minimum account and security information needed to provide and protect the account features you choose to use. This includes account and verified-email information and necessary session and security information. Service providers may send service and security emails for the account.
The sites use the necessary browser-session cookie to keep your session working securely. They do not use advertising, analytics or behavioural-tracking cookies.
Recovery and closure
Forgot Password sends a short-lived, single-use reset link to the registered email address. Completing the reset changes the password and signs the account out of existing sessions.
Merryton does not store a readable copy of an Account Recovery Key. Where the supported lost-email recovery journey is available, recovery verifies the new email address, requires a new password, revokes old sessions, consumes the Recovery Key used and gives you a new Recovery Key to save. Support cannot bypass security or guarantee recovery when both registered email access and the Recovery Key are lost. A permanently privacy-closed account cannot be recovered.
Membership expiry alone is not dormancy. Genuinely inactive accounts may eventually be closed, with reasonable warning. This information introduces no numerical dormancy threshold.
Account closure deletes or de-identifies unnecessary personal information. Only information with an independent reason to remain, such as necessary commercial or security evidence, licensed non-personal content or anonymous archive evidence, is retained under its existing authority.
Chosen features and support
Features you choose to save, such as Wants, favourites, saved searches or collections, may remain attached to your account because you asked the service to remember them. Available features differ between sites.
Open Account Support conversations remain available while they are being handled. Resolved support conversations are retained only for a limited period and are then deleted.
Separate website and service information
The relevant website Privacy Notice explains its use of personal information. Marketplace activity, private Deal information, membership and commercial records, and archive evidence have their own applicable information and authorities. Account registration does not itself start a Marketplace Deal or paid membership.
Account closure, commercial records, security evidence and other separately justified retention follow their own current authorities. This information creates no new retention periods or legal bases for processing.
Privacy enquiries
You may ask about access to, correction of or deletion of your personal information where applicable. UK users may contact the Information Commissioner's Office where applicable if they remain dissatisfied after raising the issue with us.
Use the contextual support contact accompanying this information for the website through which you are asking. Privacy information is informational; reading it does not record contractual acceptance or consent to new processing.
Email preferences
Circuni, Struck & Found, Hagglefor and Merryton news and marketing are optional. You can choose topics at registration and change them in your account or through the preference and unsubscribe links in news emails. Turning off optional news does not turn off essential account and service emails.
We’ll email you when necessary about your account, security, payments or important changes affecting services you use. These messages are separate from optional news and marketing.
General network news, new-site announcements, offers and promotional feature updates remain optional marketing. Calling a message important does not change that. Email delivery remains subject to bounce, abuse and delivery-safety controls.
